Surveyor's Hill Winery

Vines planted here from the mid-1980s predate most of the Canberra district. The volcanic soils — porphyritic ignimbrite, Silurian-era, free-draining — drove an early pivot from Pinot Noir toward Tempranillo, Graciano and Grenache, with white Rhône varieties following. Glenys runs the cellar door; the kitchen, once guided by Leigh's charcuterie, now operates under his former assistant. Surveyors Hill itself frames the view.
